Tristan Garner has etched his name on the world dance map as one of the most talented DJ/producers of the music’s new French generation, following in the footsteps of forefathers Cassius, Daft Punk and Cerrone as part of the new wave of French masters. The Parisian resident has risen to the forefront of the scene in rapid fashion by combining electronic music with a smattering of rock or punk whatever else he feels appropriate, receiving international recognition via a string of hits such as ‘Overdrive’, ‘Punx’, ‘Digital Rocker EP’, ‘Raven’ and the forthcoming ‘Machine Gun’.

What has endeared Tristan to the dancefloor dwelling public is not just his undeniable talent but also his attitude – Garner is an artist that doesn’t subscribe to popular convention and plays by his own rules. That’s why when he DJs you’ll just as likely hear him manipulating rock and metal records alongside the house smashes, filth driven electro rippling side by side with vocal and uplifting anthems. And they are all segued together with deft technical ease that ensures the flow is fluid and fitting. If a record moves and excites him he’ll play it regardless of what the common consensus may be, or what is considered ‘relevant’ in the eyes of others. His simple mantra urges “Fuck trends and be yourself” – and it’s one he sticks to emphatically.

Having played at all four corners of the globe, shifted considerable units via Beatport and other key music portals, and earned the respect and support of the world’s elite of DJs, Garner is primed to take his talent to stratospheric heights in 2013. And all while flicking two fingers nonchalantly at those who doubt his values or talents – a hell-raiser of house music whose urge to party is matched only by his never ending work rate. He’s building and creating one heck of a riot, and it’s a party we’re all invited too.
